The course is available only once a year and is arranged to coincide with the local Feria, where our students are regularly invited to perform to local audiences. This is a really special and unforgettable week and numbers are limited - so please - if you would like to join us, book early!
We are delighted to announce that your dance teacher for the Alhaurin course
will be Ester, lead dancer from the group Mi Tierra Flamenca.
Classes in Alhaurin are held in a large, airy Salon belonging to a local bar, La Peñita, which is about a 50 metre walk from the hotel. The studio is likely to be available for your use after classes, subject to discretion of the restaurant manager, who is usually extremely helpful.
The included dance
lessons (with a complete choreography) are suitable for all levels of
ability and beginners can be accommodated. An optional, and additional
Intermediate/Advanced Dance Class is also available for those more
experienced students who would like to work on a more challenging
choreography.
Course choreographies are designed to match the abilities of course participants once we know who is joining us. On previous courses over the past 10 years we have worked on Bulerias, Colombiana, Fandango, Mirabras, Solea, Solea por Medio, Solea por Buleria, Tangos, Tangos de Malaga, Tientos, Tarantos, Peteneras, Zorongo. We are always open to suggestions from prospective students. Courses can be taught in both English and Spanish.
We provide opportunities for you to take part in the Feria and perform to
local audiences. So, if you have a dance ready and rehearsed to performance
level, make sure you bring an outfit and your music.
